It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Lift Newington. We are a vibrant, inclusive school community where children are nurtured, challenged and inspired to be the very best they can be.
At Lift Newington, everything we do is guided by the Lift Schools mission: to provide an excellent education for every child, in every classroom, every day. This commitment sits at the heart of our teaching, our curriculum and the care we show to every pupil. We believe that all children can succeed, and we work tirelessly to ensure they are supported to achieve academically, socially and emotionally.
Our curriculum is carefully designed to be ambitious, engaging and relevant to our children and the local context of Hull. We want our pupils to see themselves reflected in their learning, while also being encouraged to look beyond their immediate experiences and develop an understanding of the wider world. By making meaningful connections to our community, heritage and future opportunities, we help our children build strong foundations, raise aspirations and develop pride in who they are and where they come from.
Everything we do is underpinned by the Lift maxims, which guide us in our mission to give our pupils the very best. We believe in excellence as habit, setting high expectations and striving for the highest standards every day. We aim to be worldwise, ensuring our children gain the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to thrive in a changing world. We recognise that individuals matter, valuing each child’s unique strengths, background and potential. A strong school culture, where children are encouraged to aim high, is supported by close partnerships with our community and families. We actively promote respect for diversity and foster a passion for lifelong learning, so that our pupils leave us confident, curious and ready for the next stage of their journey.
